The theme for this year’s conference,
“Get Even Smarter” follows a series of

Colortrac since the first launch of the
SmartLF large format scanner series.
The conference promises to showcase some
exciting new development in the SmartLF
scanners, in the field of technical and
graphical scanning as well as provide a
unique opportunity for business managers
to give feedback to Colortrac.

Support Systems Limited
has successfully completed the
consultancy service in a World Bank
assisted project for the National Bureau
of Statistics under the Presidency. SSL
by this project has succeeded in
institutionalizing GIS and GPS
technology at the NBS. The Project
entailed a complete review of the
methods of data capture, processing and
analysis; identifying associated
problems with GIS implementation and
training.
The main task involved: An assessment of
the data and operation process of the
National Bureau of Statistics; a
detailed examination of the sources and
characteristics of data in Nigeria; and
a demonstration of GIS capability in
improving data collection, storage and
analysis procedures.
Global Positioning System (GPS) and
Geographic Information System
Infrastructure such as licenses of
Arcview 9.1 and Geostatisical Analyst
extensions as well as GPS units were
also provided for the bureau.
To ensure adequate human capacity, SSL
also trained NBS staff on the use of GPS
& GIS systems. The following key
services were covered by the NBS GIS and
GPS implementation project:

and Environment (HSE) Biennial
International Conference on the Oil and
Gas industry in Nigeria jointly
organized by the Ministry of Petroleum
Resources, the Department of Petroleum
Resources and other operators in the
Nigerian oil and gas sectors will hold
at the prestigious NICON luxury hotel,
Abuja, Nigeria from November 3 – 5,
2008.
